It is easy to think of Las Vegas simply as the place where you go to either win or become separated from your money, and even though the town is built around that, there are many cool things to do for those who do not like gambling. Non-gamblers might be unwilling to admit it, but Las Vegas has a world of fantastic things to do besides gambling. I love to find cheap Las Vegas packages and then enjoy my selection of the various offerings around the town and surrounding areas.

Many people, when asked what a great holiday would contains, would mention things like resort hotels, visiting the attractions, lying out by a lovely luxurious swimming pool, great restaurants, shopping and entertainment, not to mention dancing and nightclubs.

Fine, excluding the gambling, you just described Las Vegas. Even outdoor types can find some fantastic activities with places like Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, or the Grand Canyon not too far-away. There is world-class golf, skiing, hiking, boating and fishing. And with every cheap Vegas packages available, you can enjoy all of these things for significantly less than other vacation destinations.

Personally, I love the food. With all of the themed casino hotels from all over the world, and the world-class chefs, including the $1.99 shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate Casino, oh and I can not leave out the infinite parade of buffets, it's a food lover's paradise. Whenever I am in Vegas, I pick the buffets that I'm going to indulge in as part of my Las Vegas experience. For instance, if one day I desire to do some very good and really economical sport eating, I might begin with the $5.95 breakfast buffet at the Palms, showing up at 10:00 or 10:30 so I can get in on the lunch buffet also for no extra charge. Then, when I finally get hungry later on in the evening, I'll go somewhere like the Slots-A- Fun that's adjacent to Circus Circus for a large 99 cent hotdog. And even though we are not discussing gambling in this article, I've to throw in the information that Slots-A-Fun still has $2.00 craps and $1.00 Blackjack.

Las Vegas also is famous for the world class entertainment, but some people don't go beyond the big headliners to discover the world of affordable but top notch performers and entertainers that abound in Las Vegas. For instance, there's the afternoon Mac King Comedy Show at Harrah's Casino that is guaranteed to delight the children and also the grown-ups, and is a bargain at 25 dollars. If you love magic by the way, Las Vegas is the town for you.
